Melinda joined Starmer Communications in 2011 as co-founder and part-time writer and editor. She has nearly twenty years of experience editing and rewriting both print and electronic work. Melinda has utilized her editing talents throughout her career in higher education. She currently serves as the Associate Dean for Faculty Advancement in Arts & Science at New York University. She formerly served as the Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs at Columbia University. Prior to that, Melinda oversaw faculty affairs at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Melinda earned her doctorate in adult learning and leadership at Columbia University Teachers College, where she researched Observational Learning and Experiential Learning: American Political Polarization and the Search for Common Ground. She received her master’s degree in social psychology from Harvard University and her bachelor’s degree in music business (minor in English) from Northeastern University.
